Thanks so much for tagging me Lucinda
The best book you’ve read this year?
Oh, this is so so hard, I have read so many great books this year but I’m going to have to go with After The Fire by Will Hill, it was just incredible.
2. The best sequel you’ve read this year?
The Extinction Trials: Exile by S.M. Wilson, wow, wow, wow, I loved the first one, but the sequel was somehow even better!
3. New releases you haven’t read yet but want to.
Oh gosh there are a few, I have an ARC of A Wish For Us by Tillie Cole that I can’t wait to read and I also really need to read Clean, by Juno Dawson.
4. Most anticipated releases for the second half of the year.
Hmm there are a few that I know are coming out that I want to read, Floored is on that list!
5. Biggest disappointment.
I was quite disappointed by Sunflowers in February, I just couldn’t connect with it for about 3/4 of the book, it was only the end that I really loved.
6. Biggest surprise.
The Extinction Trials! I am usually a contemporary romance lover, but these books just hooked me in, I love this series so so much!
7. Favourite new to you, or debut, author.
There were a few this year that I discovered that I loved, I’m going to have to go with two on this one, S.M Wilson for making me fall in love with a book series that isn’t my usual genre. And Karen Gregory, I’ve loved reading her books this year.
8. Newest fictional crush.
Lincoln from The Extinction Trials, this is really turning into a ‘fangirl over TET’ post, oops, but it is so good and Lincoln is so loveable 😍
9. Newest favourite character.
I’m going to go with Moonbeam from After The Fire, I loved how feisty, yet caring she was and how she cooed after everything that she went through.
10. Book that made you cry?
I haven’t read a book this year that’s made me fully sob or cry hard, but I Stop Somewhere hit me hard and I found myself reading up multiple times, it’s such a powerful book!
11. Book that made you happy?
Theatrical by Maggie Harcourt made me really happy, it was such a lovely book to read! I love the theatre and I love contemporary YA so much!
12. Favourite book to film adaption?
I don’t think I’ve actually seen any this year, I don’t go to the cinema or watch movies an awful lot, but After by Anna Todd starts filing next week and I’m super excited for that!
13. Favourite post you have done this year?
I loved doing the Disney book tag post, I love Disney and I love books, it was so fun to combine them!
14. Most beautiful book you have bought this year?
The Spring Girls by Ann’s Todd, that cover is so so beautiful. If I didn’t adore Anna and buy her books anyway, TSG is totally one of those books I would buy based on the cover alone!
15. What books do you need to read by the end of the year?
There are A LOT of books that I need to read, a few on my immediate TBR are Clean by Juno Dawson, Without Merit by Colleen Hoover and I have lost my way by Gayle Forman
Thanks for reading, I haved loved reading all these books this year so far and look forward to many more!
