A Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole

One kiss lasts a moment.
But a thousand kisses can last a lifetime.

One boy.
One girl.
A bond that is forged in an instant and cherished for a decade.
A bond that neither time nor distance can break.
A bond that will last forever.
Or so they believe.

When seventeen-year-old Rune Kristiansen returns from his native Norway to the sleepy town of Blossom Grove, Georgia, where he befriended Poppy Litchfield as a child, he has just one thing on his mind. Why did the girl who was one half of his soul, who promised to wait faithfully for his return, cut him off without a word of explanation?

Rune’s heart was broken two years ago when Poppy fell silent. When he discovers the truth, he finds that the greatest heartache is yet to come.

So Spring is arriving in the UK, I was walking along my street yesterday and noticed the Cherry blossom trees in full bloom! They were so beautmiful and they reminded me of A Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole.IMG_3972

I read this book last year before going to a book signing to meet Tillie (she is incredibly lovely btw!) but being reminded of it made me want to write a blog post on it.t

This book! It is incredible, if you like an ugly cry book then you must read this!
It’s about Poppy and Rune and starts off with them as young children, they become best friends but then they get superseded. After a while Rune moves back home to Norway, he and Poppy promise to stay in touch, but she cuts him off all of a sudden, and it really hurts Rune, when he returns back to America, he is angry and confused, but Poppy is hiding a secret from him, the reason she cut him off is really sad and difficult.

The writing in this book is fantastic! Tillie is amazing!  The way the story flows and the emotions from the characters is spot on! I’m so glad I found this book! I did find what happens a bit shocking, but I liked the shock, it wasn’t one of those books where I just knew what was going to happen.

It does deal with a very hard and touching subject though, so you may want to find out a little more before reading the book as some people can be quite sensitive to that!

But I truly fell in love with Poppy and Rune, and their beautiful love story! This story will stay with me for a long time!
